Eid Festival, Jyväskylä 2026, A Celebration for Everyone!

Celebrate the spirit of togetherness at the Eid Festival in Villa Rana, Seminaarinkatu 13, Jyväskylä, on Sunday, March 22nd, from 12:00 to 16:00.

What is Eid-ul-Fitr?

Eid ul-Fitr, often simply called Eid, is one of the most cherished festivals in Islam worldwide. It marks the joyful end of Ramadan which is a holy month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and gratitude for Muslims community. Known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” it celebrates spiritual renewal, community sharing, and giving charity like Zakat al-Fitr to those in need. It is a day filled with gratitude, joy, and sharing with one another. It’s a joyful time for families and friends to come together, share food, and celebrate kindness and connection.

What to Expect:
•⁠ ⁠Food Festival (Downstairs): Enjoy a variety of delicious traditional dishes prepared by local community members. Come taste the flavors that make Eid so special. Additionally, there will be free dates and coffee.
•⁠ ⁠Cultural Program (Upstairs): Discover meaningful cultural performances and displays that highlight the traditions, stories, and creativity of the Muslim community in Jyväskylä.
•⁠ ⁠Henna Stall: Get beautiful henna designs perfect for hands from skilled local artist, and this is also a fun Eid tradition for all ages.

Everyone is warmly welcome: people of all backgrounds, ages, and communities. Come share in the celebration, learn about Eid, and enjoy a day filled with hospitality and happiness at Villa Rana!

The event is part of the Open Art & Life Lab project organised by Culture House Villa Rana, which is co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program. The program is aimed at 13-30-year-olds but not limited to. The event is substance-free, held in an accessible space, and adheres to safer spaces principles.
