Double bill – Dance performance and concert

The festival’s Saturday programme culminates in a double bill featuring two events. The evening opens with Yön Lintu, a solo dance work by Gáddjá Haarla Pieski, followed by a concert by Hilda Länsman and Tuomas Norvio. With a single ticket, you can experience both events.

An endangered eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) is looking for a place to settle.

Will this nocturnal adventure prove doomed – on stage at least, the eagle-owl is clad in a theatre costume for protection.

in the tight grip of stitched stitches

in the dark, soft swaddling, from day to night

someone in the landscape seemed to fade into the ground

even between the fingers and toes; hot, warm, lukewarm, cool, cold

The features of the eagle-owl character are revealed – and yet it remains to be seen what it will take to bring them into the light of day. The performance weaves together contradictions; it plays with the eagle-owl theatrical costume, then spins itself around and carries the viewer to the other side of the story. The magic of the theatrical costume fades and the presence of something else is revealed. The performance delves into dance as a medium for telling a complex story.

Hildá Länsman & Tuomas Norvio

The duo Hildá Länsman & Tuomas Norvio invite you to join their ongoing exploration between the ancient Sámi vocal tradition of luohti (joik) and modern electronic soundscapes.

Hildá Länsman is a singer, joiker, and musician from Ohcejohka, the northernmost Finnish part of the Sápmi region. She grew up in a family of reindeer herders and joikers, and her work is dedicated to highlighting and developing the Sámi culture.

Tuomas Norvio, a Finnish sound designer, composer and producer, weaves his intricate electronic soundscapes, brimming with urban urgency and metropolitan melancholy, into the spirit of Sámi identity – creating an artistic meeting ground between Helsinki and the high north.

Hildá Länsman & Tuomas Norvios debut album “Dajan” was released in 2025, described by the duo themselves as an ongoing conversation between tradition and technology, human and machine, earth and electricity. In 2026 they won the Vuoden Etno award at The Emma Gaala for the album.

Their live performances are energetic and unexpected, always bringing elements of improvisation that creates an ongoing nerve on stage. We invite you to a live performance that’s both unexpectedly touching and irresistibly danceable.
