Anne-Maarit Kinnunen: Pep Talk

“I shrink myself as if I don’t exist. I write dances into a desk drawer.”

Pep Talk asks what we don’t do because we are afraid. The work combines text and speech with movement.

Choreography and dance: Anne-Maarit Kinnunen

18.30 Blomstedt Hall
Teija Häyrynen: My own life danced out

My own life danced out – in the workshop, the participant’s star moment and dream are transformed into physical movement and dance expression through guided improvisation and playful movement experiments. Stories and words create common movement and understanding, which offer freedom of interpretation and an opportunity for identification. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and people who are fond of exercise and dance. The common language in the workshop is body language, so everyone can get by despite the languages they speak. When directing, I use Finnish and English and clear facial expressions.

Instructor: Teija Häyrynen

17-20.30 Paulaharju Hall: non-stop workshops

Come and write about you for yourself!

What do you want, wish for, and dare to do in life? Which things lift your courage, and which things steel it? Who are you when nobody is watching?

You can get answers in workshop of creative writing! You use writing as a tool to see what features you have, and which features you want to strengthen.

You can come even if you don’t consider yourself as a writer. And hey – you don’t have to share your texts unless you want to!

Instructor of creative writing is Merja Toppi who loves colors, cats, and cakes.

The landscape of my own voice and mind

In this two-part workshop, we discover our own voice, the courage to express ourselves, and explore identity deeper with the help of imagination. We explore making sounds with and without drumming, we get the opportunity to express something deeper, which is beyond everyday thoughts. The second half of the workshop is a journey of imagination, which we illustrate on paper and interpret, what it says about our subconscious, worldview and identity.

The workshop does not require experience in singing or drawing, and you can participate in both or just one. Most important thing is the desire to throw yourself in, and a little bit of playfulness. Instructor is Roosa Okano from Ihme Kultti artist collective.
