Villa Rana Open Art

Villa Rana Open Art is a free workshop and cultural programme for people under 30 years old at Cultural Centre Villa Rana.

Workshops and events are free for participants. No prior experience is needed. The workshops are joined groups for all participants regardless of their nationality, gender, and religion, and they are run according to anti-racism principles. Workshops are held by professional tutors and language is Finnish, English or any other language spoken in the group. Location is the Cultural Centre Villa Rana at Seminaarinkatu 13, Jyväskylä.

Villa Rana Open Art project began in 2022, and it was funded by the Regional State Administrative Office and City of Jyväskylä. The project continues in 2023, funded by the Regional State Administrative Office.

Skills for Future with Arts

The aim of this Erasmus+ funded project is to develop the young peoples’ skills for future such as critical thinking, interaction capabilities, empathy, resilience and ability to imagine possible futures through art practice and art education. The themes to explore are
1) self-knowledge, courage and finding one’s own voice. Attached subjects are influencing your own living environment, democracy and power;
2) happiness. Attached subjects are future, sustainable development, ecology, ethics and communality and
3) loneliness. Attached subjects are digital communications, means of communication and interaction.
